The 2014 Global Pet Expo, to be held March 12-14 in Orlando, FL, will feature a presentation entitled Dog and Cat Market Trends: Contexts and Implications by Packaged Facts’ research director David Sprinkle. The Global Pet Expo is the pet industry’s largest annual trade show and is presented by the American Pet Products Association (APPA) and Pet Industry Distributors Association (PIDA).
Combining Packaged Facts’ extensive monitoring of the pet products market with new proprietary Pet Owner Survey data for 2014, Mr. Sprinkle’s presentation focuses on trends in dog and cat population, pet owner spending, and nutrition products. Discussion will drill down to purchasing patterns by pet owner demographic and, for the canine market, by size of pet. Data will be analyzed in the context of the ongoing pet humanization and pet product premiumization trends, and the associated focus on pet health, wellness, and functional pampering.
